The recently expanded Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego is the region’s foremost forum devoted to the exploration and presentation of the art of our time. The collection includes more than 4,000 works created after 1950, representing a variety of media and genres: painting, sculpture, works on paper, photography, video, and installation.


Open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday-Sunday, 11:00 am-5:00 pm. Closed Wednesdays.


Wednesdays, Christmas, and New Years Day.

Getting In

Present your pass at the admissions counter.


MCASD Downtown does not have a parking lot; however public garages and surface lots are nearby. Metered street parking is also available near the Museum. Street parking meters are not enforced after 6 pm, on Sun- days, and certain holidays.

Driving Directions

From I-5 S, exit at Sassafrass. The ramp merges directly into Kettner Bou- levard. From I-5 N, exit at 6th Avenue. Follow 6th for 3 blocks to Ash Street, turn right. Follow Ash Street through downtown to Kettner. Turn left. From 163 S, exit at Ash Street. Follow Ash to Kettner and turn left.
